  1. Your system time can also help to give your location away, and your browser knows your system time and will tell anybody. You can't pretend you're in germany if your pc is set to gmt. This is not so much of an issue if you just want to mask your exact location. Also ISPs are likely to force your traffic through their dns servers even if you use a vpn, and this will give your location away to anyone watching you. ipleak.com is a great website for seeing what can be seen about you when your vpn is up or down.

  2. So if I use a public WiFi hotspot, and I first connected to my vpn, then went to PayPal, what would a potential hacker see, just the vpn server I'm connected to? Nothing else? The hacker can't then follow the trail from the vpn server onto PayPal?

  3. Whatismyipaddress site is so "accurate" that it missed my location by just 97 km, not that i want it to know exact address to the point but they are way off and while we are at it what is the best fastest VPN to use cause it is hard to choose cause the all advertise them self the same just the words or sentences order is shuffled a bit but it is all we the fastest securest no logs high speed hihg bla bla but who know what reality looks like from their perspective so any input is appreciated greatly THANK YOU

  4. This is a feature of VPNs that isn't its original purpose. Useful information for individuals trying to hide or change their identity on the Internet, but NOT what people traditionally use VPNs for. The original idea was to connect private networks over the Internet to each other encrypted. It had nothing to do with "hiding" or changing your geolocation, but instead just connecting in a way that was secure and seemless.

  5. Shit man if hackers figured out how to rout through different channels to steal stuff, we can do the same to frustrate them, just takes a little knowledge, I am personally not sold on these VPN's yet
we need to set a "mine field" for hackers
